Meet Anton, Your Trainer

A proud Detroit native, is a trailblazing professional basketball trainer and former Division I prospect. Instead of pursuing D1 offers, Anton chose to play at Gallaudet University, the world’s only university dedicated to Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, located in Washington, DC. This decision allowed him to connect deeply with a community that mirrored his own identity, fostering a sense of belonging both on and off the court. During his career, Anton achieved significant milestones, representing Team USA in international competitions. He played in the 2007 World Championships in Guangzhou, China, where he helped secure a bronze medal, and in the 2009 Deaflympics in Taipei, Taiwan, where he contributed to winning a gold medal. Anton earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Recreation from Gallaudet University. Post-graduation, Anton further honed his craft by attending Trainer University under the renowned Micah Lancaster, where he completed the Master’s Program and earned his I’M POSSIBLE Training (IPT) certification. Anton also is affiliated with JUS HOOP, Under The Whistle Training LLC, and the #1 NBA Player Development Company, led by CEO Chris Johnson. He plays a role in training Klutch Sports Group draft prospects each summer and works with NBA and WNBA players during the offseason. With his unique ability to train hearing, Deaf, and Hard of Hearing athletes, Anton has carved out a niche within the basketball training community that is well overdue and much needed. As the first Deaf and Hard of Hearing professional basketball trainer, Anton has shattered barriers, creating accessibility and elite training opportunities for aspiring Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) athletes basketball players. His commitment to equity and innovation makes him a powerful force in reshaping what inclusive excellence looks like in player development as he continues his mission is to empower athletes-particularly within the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and CODA communities to achieve excellence on and off the court through innovative and inclusive training methods.
